What To Do For 3 Days In Barcelona

You’ve got 3 days in Barcelona, Spain? Barcelona would be on top of the places to see in Spain for its diversity and ability to appeal to the lovers of fine food and wine, architecture, art, culture, shopping, sunshine and beaches and lots that love to party. Barcelona really does have something for everyone.

Made up of two parts, Barcelona features Placea Catalunya, the historic centre of Barcelona and the modern centre of Barcelona. Enjoy strolling the city for hours passing

Here is my guide for 3 days in Barcelona.

Walk through Las Ramblas, the pedestrian boulevard filled with buskers, vendors and kiosks. My favourite part of Las Ramblas is the mass of fresh flowers on sale.

While walking along Las Ramblas stop by Merat de la Boqueria for the fresh food market. Stock up on nuts and fruit for your journey.

One of my favourite things about Barcelona is that it offers a good mix of culture, food, shopping and beach time. Soak up some rays at the local beaches surrounding the city.

The gothic cathedral was built on the ruins of a Catholic Church. When I visited it was undergoing renovations.

The Museu Picasso contains over 3000 pieces of Picasso’s works.

Take some time to wander through the Olympic Village and Olympic Port along the waterfront area. Enjoy the many restaurants and bars.

Casa Batllo

Take it all in strolling through the streets of Barcelona. Then make your way out to Guell Park to see the urban landscape designed by Gaudi.

Visit the local markets and buy nuts and fruit to snack on.

Book accommodation in advance – I arrived in Barcelona on South East Asian time, thinking I could turn up and just ‘wing-it’ when it came to accommodation. I couldn’t have been more wrong. We were told there was no tourist high season, Barcelona is always busy. Moral of the story, be organised when it comes to Barcelona.

Visit Guell Park – Just outside the city but well worth the trip. Take the bus to Guell Park, another of Gaudi’s works to admire the stonework, gardens, Gaudi’s colourful architecture and take in the beautiful views over the city. Read more on Beautiful Barcelona and Gorgeous Gaudi Architecture.

Be alert – like anywhere we aware of your surroundings and be a smart tourist. Barcelona does have some theft warnings so remember to keep your valuables close.
